Our Swing Dance Shoes
The swing
The swing dancing shoes worn by professionals
At Swivells, everything started on the dance floor. We are two swing enthusiasts (Lindy Hop, Charleston and Balboa), dancers and Lindy Hop instructors for over ten years. We have travelled the world to learn from the best, teach at international festivals, and above all… dance, again and again. It is this experience that inspired us to create Swivells: swing shoes designed to meet the demands of professional dancers.
Each pair is designed with comfort, glide, stability and style in mind. With a neolite sole for smoother turns, a construction that is both solid and lightweight, and optimal support, our shoes move with the body through effort and momentum, whether during an energetic social dance or an intensive class.

Your questions, answered
What is a swing dance shoe?
A swing dance shoe is, above all, a shoe built for comfort. It's made to very specific standards so you feel like you're walking (or rather dancing) on a cloud!
Why buy your first pair of swing dance shoes?
Want to dance all night without sore feet? Or just let off steam after work without feeling uncomfortable? Maybe it's time to get your first pair of swing dance shoes 🙂
What makes Swivells different from other swing dance shoes?
At Swivells, we went further in the design process to give your feet all the comfort they deserve. And as if that weren't enough, we chose bright colors for styles full of energy and flair!
Which shoes should I bring to a swing social?
At a swing social, the dance floor can easily catch you off guard. The Swivells tip: pack two pairs of swing dance shoes in your bag. One with leather or Neolite soles for a smooth glide, and one with rubber soles for extra grip. That way, you'll be ready for any type of floor!
What are swing dance shoes made of?
Traditionally, swing dance shoes are made of leather. At Swivells, we use LWG-certified leather (Leather Working Group), a certification that audits tanneries on their environmental practices. For those who prefer to go without animal materials, we also offer vegan styles, made from breathable, comfortable materials derived from corn crops and recycled plastic bottles.
What shoes should I wear to a Charleston class?
The right pair depends on the floor in your studio and on your style. 1. Classic Swivells derbies or ankle boots let you move with comfort and ease. 2. If the floor is slippery, we recommend our sneakers for a bit more grip. 3. Finally, if you want to complete a vintage or elegant look, flat or heeled sandals will be your best friends in Charleston class!
