My name is Amélie. I’m the co-founder of Swivells, along with Christophe, my business partner. Today, I’d like to tell you why we decided to create swing dance shoes. It’s a story of passion, pain, dance, and above all, rediscovered freedom.
It all started with our love for swing dancing. This energetic and joyful dance captivated us from the very first step. But very quickly, we realized something essential was missing - shoes that combine style, comfort, and performance on the dance floor.
The problem: pain
Like many dancers, we suffered. Blisters, foot pain, lack of support… Dancing for hours became a struggle rather than a pleasure. We tried all kinds of shoes, but none truly met our specific needs as swing dancers.
The solution: creating our own shoes
That’s how the idea of Swivells was born. We wanted to create shoes that offer absolute comfort while remaining elegant and perfectly suited to the movements of swing. Every pair is designed to allow dancers to express themselves freely, without constraints.
